The AVDT-BOB-AE4IO is a compact, multipurpose Dante™ breakout box with 2x Mic line and 2xline outs on Euroblock. The embedded Ultimo Dante processor allows for the reception and transmission of up to 4 channels over a Dante network, enabling remote control, monitoring, and full compatibility with Dante software and tools.
Equipped with state-of-the-art analog microphone preamplifiers, the AVDT-BOB delivers exceptional audio quality and dynamic range at a cost-effective price. These preamps feature high-quality analog ladder-step gain controllers, offering a 60dB gain range with 3dB steps and an Equivalent Input Noise (EIN) as low as -125dBu.
The AVDT-BOB includes a powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that enables audio signal processing and mixing both at the input source and output. The DSP provides users with high-pass filters, parametric equalizers, dynamic compression, and fine-pitch digital gain adjustments. Additionally, the unit features a digital mixing matrix that allows seamless mixing of analog and Dante channels, with flexible routing to any output.
The device runs on a dual-core ARM processor with ample flash memory, allowing for universal and multiplatform remote control over IP (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux). The ARM Cortex M4 + M0 processor powers a Web 2.0 server for efficient, customizable, and user-friendly remote control and monitoring. The interface is built on open standards (HTML5 and JavaScript) for cross-platform compatibility.
The AVDT-BOB also includes an internal 5-port Gigabit switch that simplifies cabling, increases throughput, and reduces latency. This built-in switch connects the external Gigabit ports (including 2x RJ45, 2x SFP modules, or an EtherCon, depending on the model) with the Dante Ultimo chip and ARM processor, ensuring low latency and enabling daisy-chaining with other Dante devices without the need for an external switch.
Powering the AVDT-BOB is made easy with its internal PoE (Power over Ethernet) module, which provides up to 12W of power through the “Main” Gigabit port, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. Additionally, the AVDT-BOB features a redundant power management system, including a lockable 6.4mm jack connector for a standard 12V DC external power supply.
The AVDT-BOB’s motherboard is designed with native extension connectors to add new functionalities through a range of optional daughter boards. Available expansion cards include 2x analog cards with 2x Mic/Line inputs and 2x analog outputs on EuroBlock or SubD connectors, as well as 2x digital cards with AES/EBU and GPIOs. The hardware is ready for quick customization or design of new interfaces based on specific requirements.
Built from lightweight yet robust extruded aluminum, the AVDT-BOB is both durable and adaptable. The unit includes side rails for flexible mounting options and comes with side ears that can be positioned in various ways. An optional mounting kit is available to interconnect up to three AVDT-BOB units, enabling the creation of a 1U 19″ rack unit with up to 12 mic/line inputs and 12 analog outputs in a single compact space.
